I read "THE DREAM AND OTHER STORIES." As the title, this book consists of short stories. I think that a story "The Blind Man" is most interesting. I will tell you the story. Isabel and her husband, Maurice, were waiting for their friend Bertie. Maurice had been blinded in the wer in France and he had been home for a year because he was badly scarred and totally blind. He became despairing. His wife tried to give her hussband some further connection with the outside world so she invited their old friend. Bertie is kind, but also weak. He became a successful lawyer, a rich man and a great social success but he was ashemed of himself because he couldn't marry. The three of them enjoyed dinner together. Afterwards, Maurice left the house and Bertie went out to check on him. Then, the blind man asked Bertie fo permission to touch him. Maurice expllained Bertie's skull, face, and arm.
